It was just hanging there off of Ukraine.

We found this ring in the library. Kind of gaudy, but Vlad likes shiny stuff, so it must have caught his eye. No idea who it belongs to, as nobody in our neighborhood plays American-style football.

I think Vlad thought it was a rat. Fortunately, it was chipped.
